President Rodrigo Duterte Recognizes Cooperatives as Partners in Economic Development

President Rodrigo Duterte spoke to co-ops nationwide, recognizing them as partners in economic development.

Below is the text of his speech:

My warmest greetings to all cooperative organizations throughout the Philippines as we celebrate Cooperative Month this October.  Since its inception, the Cooperative Movement has complemented the Government's thrust towards people empowerment and active participation, in pursuit of inclusive development.

We have seen how cooperatives in various sectors have spurred economic and financial growth ,   improved productivity, promoted good governance among its members.

I recognize the efforts of the Committee on Cooperatives Development in the House of Representatives and its partner, the Cooperative Development Authority, for spearheading this annual event

May this inspire more initiatives that will promote  sustainable progress among our communities, especially in the countryside.

MABUHAY ANG KOOPERATIBA!
